The program will highlight the intimate pages of the art biography of the musical "chronicler" of the XX century - Dmitry Shostakovich. Among them - the score of the First Concert for Violin and Orchestra. The solo part will be performed by the world-famous Russian-Belgian violinist Boris Belkin.
The second part is the hour of the Eighth Symphony by Shostakovich, connected both chronologically and figuratively with the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War. The content of this work is revealed through the prism of undisguised human suffering. Its truthfulness is merciless, and the emotional tension of all musical means and the depth of expression are truly colossal. The Eighth Symphony is a vivid culmination of tragedy in the work of the master and stunning evidence of the composer's protest against evil and violence.
