The Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Pavel Kogan will take part in the festival marathon: three concerts, each in one act as part of the Philharmonic subscription No.3, VII International Festival of Contemporary Music “Another Space”.
The program of the premiere evening will include the Piano Concerto by the Hungarian and Austrian avant-garde composer György Ligeti, this monumental work is rightfully considered one of the most significant testimonies of the tragic era of the 20th century. Ligeti never considered himself to be in any direction, he was always looking for his own, individual style, and even at a respectable age was not afraid to experience something new. His work has influenced Alfred Schnittke, Edison Denisov and many other composers.
The program of the evening will also include works by some of the most extravagant composers of the twentieth century, Giacinto Scelsi - Four pieces for orchestra; and Sergei Newski - 18 episodes for orchestra.
The conductor of the Bolshoi Theater, Music Director and conductor of the "Questa Musica" ensemble, laureate of the Golden Mask, the young, charismatic maestro Filipp Chizhevsky will stand at the conductor's desk.
